I’m Building A Micro-SAAS. Here’s Why👇

Hey, it’s Alex.

It’s been two weeks with no newsletter. I apologize.

I recently moved out for the first time in my life and there is definitely a lot more to it than I expected.

But I’m thrilled with my cozy little apartment so far and feel very grateful for what I have been blessed with.

Furniture is still on its way. But there is a certain kind of charm that comes with sleeping in an empty room with a mattress on the floor.

And by empty room I mean EMPTY, I don’t even have internet yet, in fact, I am writing this newsletter in the community room of my apartment.

But anyway. Right now I am working on a small SAAS project and………

Here’s what we are going over today:

  • 🧍‍♂️ How I Got The Idea

  • 📈 My Idea And How I Plan To Market It

  • 📰 The Future Of This Newsletter

How I Got The Idea:

So, I have always been a big YouTube guy.

Ever since I was a kid I have been binging these videos that regular people would make.

And when I turned 16 and started to realize that I really wanted to own a business, So I started binge “business“ YouTubers.

And I kept watching them for years….

And even though I would say that over the years I have learned a lot from them.

After a while it began to feel like I wasn’t really learning anything, I already knew all these “basics“. I needed something more.

So recently I’ve been watching something else.

The Small Youtuber.

I realized that just because you have a lot of subscribers, doesn’t mean you have the most valuable information.

In fact, small YouTubers who don’t have a lot of traction yet, need to stand out and give information that isn’t being shared anywhere else.

They need to ACTUALLY bring you value.

I then stumbled across someone who has built a small micro-saas app.

I won’t go too in-depth on exactly what it is but in short, It’s an app on the App Store and Play Store that helps people quit their vaping addiction.

It’s called “puff count” and the way that it monetizes is by having users pay a weekly or monthly subscription in order to keep using the app.

And what was even more crazy to me is that all this man really did was build the app, and then his one and only job was to market it.

Once he got a couple users on the app, he didn’t need to physically do ANYTHING to make money.

Sure he could make updates for the app to keep users more engaged.

And make marketing efforts to keep building the app.

But technically, if he wanted to, he could do absolutely nothing. And keep making thousands of dollars a month.

The best part, his initial users were completely free. He got them from just a couple of viral videos on TikTok. In fact, One. Single. Video. brought him an extra 3-4k a month in MRR.

You can even look it up, go on TikTok, type in “Puff Count“, Click on the first profile you see, you will see a video with 7.6 million views.

In that video, he mentioned the app in a very sleek way that doesn’t even feel like an ad. And thanks to that he got a surge of tens of thousands of new users.

And once he had a couple of these viral videos that people loved, he began to promote them as ads on TikTok using the money he gained from those first couple of free users.

And after a couple of months of building, he is now at $20k MRR.

Insane.

My Idea And How I Plan To Market It:

Once I saw this, I was hooked.

I thought back on my TikTok Marketing Agency and I realized… all the companies that were hiring me were some form of SAAS.

And they weren’t insane groundbreaking apps. They were just a basic idea in a pretty package.

Another thing I realized is that their marketing budgets were in the HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS.

Why?

Because they were a cash-flowing business with literally no other expenses but their developers.

So why WOULDN’T they reinvest the hundreds of thousands of dollars they are earning to earn even more?

I then thought about it and I realized……

I already know how to do the marketing…….

All I need is the app……

Let’s get to work.

So right now I have a developer friend that I am partnered up with, he is in charge of getting the app up and running, and I am in charge of marketing the app.

It’s going to be an “AI app” that is pretty similar to a couple of other apps that are already out there.

I know, another AI app lol. But I thought about it logically, the demand for AI apps is still very much there, and the idea we have come up with is very simple to create thanks to AI.

We are initially going to market it through my TikTok page since that will be very easy and free marketing.

Once we find a format that works and gets us consistent users and cash flow, we will begin to start paying other creators for them to post it on their page as well.

And since I have a little marketing company, I already have connections with 10-30 very good creators.

It’s perfect.

I won’t expose the app on here yet, but as it grows I will likely begin to open up about it more and more.

So make sure you stay tuned.

As For This Newsletter:

It’s very fun to write to you guys here.

But I am getting a little bored of the same exact format every time where I just talk about other people and what they are doing.

I want to spice things up a bit and make content that you ACTUALLY enjoy and look forward to.

So please let me know what would you want to see more of here.

If there is an idea for a newsletter/piece of content that you wish someone would FINALLY make. This is your chance to turn it into a reality.
