Okay, I’m a little annoyed.

I’ve been trying to ignore it but I keep hearing about “TikTok Shop” in every corner of the internet.

People claim that they are making $500…….. $1000………. $5,000………….. TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS. A DAY.

And I’ve barely understood what it was this entire time.

Is this possible? Or is this just another shiny object in the business space, let’s check it out.

What Is TikTok Shop:

If you have been on TikTok in the past couple of months…

Chances are you have probably seen a video that feels like an Ad, but it’s from a real, genuine person.

And it’s got this pretty little link on the bottom.

Here let me show you.

And as soon as you click that little link..

You get taken to a sales page.

Not on another website.

In TikTok. (Which also accepts Apple Pay and Google Pay)

And what’s even more insane is that these products don’t have low sales.

For example the creatine in that image…… 94,000 units sold.

Close to a million dollars in revenue from TikTok alone. Insane.

How Much Are People Making From It:

Obviously from the previous image you can see that some companies are absolutely printing with this feature.

But something even crazier is the affiliate program regular people are using to make money as well.

The way that TikTok Shop works is it allows companies to pay an affiliate commission to regular people for selling their products.

So for example,

You have an account with the affiliate program enabled.

You are a fitness guy who makes videos about how to get better results in the gym.

You find a creatine, or a multivitamin, or a forearm trainer, Or whatever you think your audience would be interested in.

You make a video like you normally would, but you mention this new creatine you’re taking from TikTok Shop.

If people are interested, they click on the button and buy their $20 creatine, and you receive $4 for facilitating the sale.

$4? Doesn’t sound like much.

Should You Try It?

If you are a brand or someone who can garner attention on social media.

I say go for it.

Even if you have never tried social media before and you have an extra hour per day, I’d still say go for it.

TikTok is pushing almost any video that has this link to the For You Page.

Why?

Because they get a piece of the pie for every sale as well.

In other words, They WANT you to succeed.

If you get sales and make money, THEY make money as well.

And that’s not something you see very often when it comes to advertising on social media platforms.
